Hi ya'll~
Today, I would like to share one of my favorite Kalguksoo restaurant!
First, Kalguksoo is a type of warm noodle soup!
If you like to have soup typed meal, I would highly recommend
this restaurant!
The place I would like to share is located in Gimpo.
It is called
Gong-hang Kalguksoo
Gong-hang means airport in Korean.
I am not sure why the restaurant name is airport Kalguksoo,
but my guess is because it is near by the Gimpo Airport...?
The place I would be sharing today is my date and my favorite
place to visit!
We rarely go to the same restaurant over and over
unless we really loved the taste or the mood or both.
We have visited this place for more than three times,
so I would strongly like to share this
restaurant with ya'll.
We would mostly arrive this place when we are
famished...
So I was not able to take pictures of the entrance,
but it did say 'since 1979'
so I believe it has been there for a very long time for a good reason too!
When you first enter the place you would be led to a table.
The waitress would serve Kimchi first.
But since we were more interested in the main menu!
We ordered
Mushroom Kalguksoo for two
right away!
Soon, the mushroom Kalguksoo would be set
on the table on the rubber induction.
You would need to wait awhile,
but the soup will soon boil.
You can eat the mushroom first
because it takes some time for the noodles to be ready.
My date does not like the strong taste of the water parsley,
but here, he said he can manage the scent and the taste :)
Water parsley is somewhat different
from the parsley used in the western food,
but there are some water parsley in the soup
which I think is what helps the soup to be more savory.
When you are almost finished with the soup,
the waitress would ask if you would like
some rice afterwards.
YES!
This is the highlight of the menu!
My date and I love this point of the meal!
Having porridge after the noodle soup!
I love Kalguksoo itself,
but I love having porridge after Kalguksoo!
Usually, my date and I would have 2 bowls of rice
made into porridge.
But this day, we were really hungry we had
3 bowls or rice made into porridge... lol
The ingredients put into the porridge seemed
common.
Rice, egg, sesame oil, dried seaweed and so on.
But seeing waitress putting in
some of our leftover soup in the porridge made me realize...
Maybe that is the key to the scruptious porridge?!
The restaurant is closer if you get off at the
Songjung station.
It is about 5minutes walk from Songjung station exit #4
FYI,
I have also attached map below.
Feels great to share places where I had precious memories
Hope ya'll have sweet day
