Back in the day In Korea,
mostly going to Chinese restaurant with a family
or to order Chinese food
would happen at special occasions.
Occasions like graduations, entrance ceremonies and so on.
These days,
there are more times to stay home due to the quarantine
leading people to order in a lot more than before.
The times have changed so
Chinese food became one of the common delivery food
for many people to enjoy even though it is not a
special occasion!
Today, my date and I were in the mood for sushi.
But because the place we were planning to go had to be
reserved, we were just circling around the area to
see what we can have for dinner!
Even though we were new in that area,
we were very serious when it came down
to choosing a meal! lol
One of the menues on our list was
"Tang-soo-yook"
This is sweet and sour pork in Korean.
Guess what!?!
The name of the restaurant we found and wanted to share is also called
Tang-Soo-Yook
My date and I thought that this restaurant had to be
master in sweet and sour pork!
Or else, why would they name their restaurant the menu of the food?!?!?!
When we entered the restaurant,
we did not have any problem in choosing the noodle menu.
It was between spicy soup noodle or black bean sauce noodle.
But we WERE having a dilemma
in choosing the portion of the sweet and sour pork.
the small size?
or
the medium size?
The waiter taking the order heard our dilemma and
told us the small portion would be enough for two people.
We took the advise and ordered the small portion.
HOWEVER!!!
we soon regretted...
The sweet and sour pork was too good to just order the small portion!
Usually the sauce for Tang-soo-yook we knew were brown.
But the sauce here was clear and had a clean but sweet taste!
The black bean sauce noodle was very delicious,
but as the restaurant is called the
"Tang-Soo-Yook",
the sweet and sour pork we ordered was very delectable.
The best tang-soo-yook I've ever eaten so far!
(Emphasis on SO FAR lol it may change in the future :P)
It would be great if we had conversations during the meal...
I mean it was a date hahaha
But menus were so delicious that our
attention was all on eating.
No conversation was made except for awe in amazement.
The price was not so expensive,
The menus were very savory.
After we finished our meal,
my date and I left while making our future visit plan to order only the
LARGE portion of sweet and sour pork.
Driving, you can search on the navigation tools.
If you are taking the subway, it is about 6 minutes walk from Janggi station exit #5
FYI,
I have also attached map below.
